Weaving In Kiah
Weaving has become a popular activity in KIAH this year! Matilda Morris, Ilah Steel and Sophie Leys visit regularly and have enjoyed learning new weaving skills. They are making a bracelet using a traditional Aboriginal weaving technique using raffia from the Raffia Palm Tree. Raffia is made from the long, narrow segments of the palm's leaves that are stripped and dried to create the versatile, natural fiber used in many Aboriginal designs.
KIAH is open at lunch times and any student is welcome to visit.
