It's nearly here... only two more sleeps to go to the biggest fundraising event on the IPS calendar - THE SCHOOL FAIR!
This issue also has everything you need to know about our School Fair. There are rides, raffles, music and dance, places to chill and relax, food, drinks, a silent auction, and so many different stalls. The weather is promising to be glorious so come along, bring your families and neighbours to the school fair on Saturday. It is always such a fabulous event that brings the whole community together for fun!

Head over the Fair Page for your ride vouchers or via this link https://www.ivanhoeps.vic.edu.au/fair-2
I hope to see you all on Saturday.

The silent auction is hotting up! Get in quick and snap up a bargain before it's too late!
Want to be a Principal for the day or have ice cream with Miss Kelly? Fancy a cubby for your back garden or take the winter chill off your outdoor space with a gas heater? Why not place a bid on your child's class art work? Jazz up your back yard with a new garden design or just treat yourself to some pampering or a family day out? There are so many items up for grabs and all the money raised goes to improving the school.
We only are only a little less than $3,000 short of our fundraising goal.

Current advice from the national and Victorian health authorities continues to be that there is a low risk to human health from these products.
As a result, closure of education settings has not been recommended by the Australian Department of Health or WorkSafe Victoria. Further, national advice is that clinical assessment by a medical practitioner is not recommended for those who have been in contact with these products.
On instruction from the Department of Education we have communicated the following to families via COMPASS and Class Dojo.
You may be aware of a recent alert about craft sand products that may contain asbestos. For current information about the recall, including a list of products, visit the ACCC website.
At our school, we are taking the steps set out by the Department of Education to collect and dispose of the products. Current advice from national and Victorian health authorities is that there is a low risk to human health from these products.
If you have the product at home, however, the advice from the health authorities is that you should stop using it and follow the safety advice published here: Safe disposal and health information for consumers with recalled sand products | ACCC Product
We love reading at IPS. At our last assembly we heard that in the Premiers Reading Challenge over 3500 books were read. I think Schoolastic has been around since I was at school and they're still going. Their catalogue is great, their prices are reasonable, and it's an easy way to get some books in front of your child.

Please take some time to remind your children to wear the correct uniform to school.

It is wonderful that many of our past students come back to visit us and keep us updated with their lives since leaving IPS.
This week, Cara has returned to IPS doing work experience with Ms Blanas. She brought along her old IPS shirt with lots of student signatures from the day she left school. What a lovely memento!
Thank you to Paul Morland who is the parent of Ged in 6P. Paul designed and redeveloped the OSHC garden. Just have a look at how functional and beautiful it is looking.

Lexi has also been beautifying the OSHC area and has organised raised planters to be installed and has begun to plant natives. It is already looking fabulous but we can't wait to see how the garden grows (to quote Oasis!)

Our school fair is a community event. It relies on our families donating a little bit of their time to help out with tasks such as running a stall, helping bump in or helping pack up. There are still some stalls that have gaps of an hour or two where there isn't a volunteer to run them, without volunteers, the stalls will have to close early and we don't want to see that.
Please consider volunteering your time. We desperately need some volunteers for time sltos on stalls and will be really appreciative of anyone who can help with the pack up at the end of the day. Thank you!
Please look out for a Dojo post or use the link below and sign up just for an hour of your time!
