Real Life and Personal Safety
Dear Families,
A special reminder that this Friday is Day for Daniel. The children have been learning all about Child Safety, recognising body clues and establishing ways to respond if they are ever feeling unsafe. In recognition of this day and very important message, all children are encouraged to wear a splash of red on Friday to promote the message of safety and recognise Day for Daniel.
Day for Daniel is about empowering children (not scaring them) — recognising safe/unsafe situations, trusted adults, saying no, telling someone if they feel unsafe.
We encourage all parents to access the resources so that they can continue the message of Child Safety at home.

Online Safety
When promoting the message of online safety, the eSafety Commissioner provides excellent easy-to-use resources for parents and carers. We encourage families to explore the eSafety Commissioner website for tipson games, social media, parental controls and healthy tech use.
At Corpus Christi we encourage students, families and staff to make the most of the online world — while staying safe. The eSafety Commissioner recommends these basic steps:
talk often about what your child does online, model safe behaviour, agree on home-technology rules, use privacy and safety settings, balance screen time with offline time, adjust expectations for your child’s age, and know what to do if they come across something troubling. Free Webinar for Parents – A Change to Social Media Age Rules
It is important to note that from 10 December 2025, new rules may stop children under 16 from creating or keeping accounts on some social media platforms. The eSafety Commissioner is running free 30-minute webinars to help parents understand these changes and learn how to further keep kids safe online.
The sessions for parents and carers Parents & carers will assist in understanding the new rules, which platforms are affected, and get tips to support your child’s safe online experience.
