Principal Message
Friday 7th November
It’s hard to believe how quickly this term is passing! It has been a short fortnight with the Cup Day long weekend, and I hope all our families enjoyed the extra time together. While students enjoyed the Monday break, our teachers were hard at work reviewing student data and preparing end-of-year reports, an important part of reflecting on each child’s growth and achievement throughout 2025.
We are also well into our planning for 2026. On Wednesday, we hosted another whole-school Stepping Up transition morning, which gave students a taste of what’s ahead next year. It was lovely to see several of our new students joining Mitcham Primary in 2026 also able to attend.
Today, we welcomed our 2026 Prep students for a fun-filled morning of sport. It was wonderful to see such enthusiastic and energetic little people so excited about coming to school. It is also incredible to think how far our current Preps have come since February. Yesterday, they celebrated their learning with a Super Sound Celebration Day, recognising all the work they have done in phonics and word study this year. The students came dressed as something beginning with the same letter as their names and enjoyed a day filled with word and sound fun, a creative and joyful way to mark such great progress!
