Grade 3 & 4

Term 4 - Week 5
We have been very busy so far this term - we worked very hard on organising our activities for Mission Day and there was just reward at the end when we raised that magnificent amount of $2875 for the people of Zambia. Awesome effort everyone! Our Learning Community learnt so much about organising, planning, making rosters, setting up our stalls, working on the stalls, then spending our money and the importance of packing up. It was all a team effort.
We have been working on using different strategies to problem solve issues when they arise. We worked in groups to suggest solutions to different scenarios.
In week 4, we walked to St Brigids for a secondary school experience. Some year 7 students gave us a tour around the school and then we stayed in our home groups to complete three different activities - sport in the stadium, making marshamllow pops in the home economics room (and they were yummy), and then made wizz fizz in the science lab. It was important to make sure of the correct measurements of the ingredients to get the right taste. Thank you to the staff and students of St Brigids who made us feel welcome.
After listening to the book 'Are We There Yet?' we are creating our own trip around Australia. It is quite interesting to see the routes being taken and the landmarks that we will stop off along the way to see. It has been interesting to find out about why people migrated to Australia and then reasons why they have remained here to make our country a multicultural place.
