Grade 1 & 2
Term 4 - Week 4
It’s now the middle of Term 4, and already we have had some amazing learning and discovering throughout our learning spaces. All the students have participated in and enjoyed all the activities.
On Friday, the 24th of October, we celebrated Mission Day. The day began with a beautiful Eucharistic Mass highlighting the theme for 2025, ‘Missionaries of Hope Among All Peoples’, and raising money for the people in Zambia this year. The students excitedly participated in the Mission Day Fete, our fundraising activity. Here is a link to show how this money will be used by the missionaries.
Thank you to all our wonderful families who donated such amazing gifts for our ‘Lucky Dip’ stall. This is a very popular stall and no one was disappointed.

Our concept for Religious Education this term is ‘Invitation’. In Week 4 we learnt about Baptism. Jesus was Baptised and we looked at this Gospel story of Mark 1:9-11. When Christians are baptised, the priest says “I baptise you in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit”. This is an invitation for that person to share in the life of the Trinity. To give the students an experience of what Baptism means and what is involved, we went to the church to see the Baptismal Font and listen to the words used in an actual Baptism of today.

This week was Melbourne Cup week but we continued to work hard and then enjoy a wonderful disco at the end. It has been an amazing four weeks and we look forward to our next four weeks and the exciting activities ahead of us..
