VEX Victorian State Championship
A huge congratulations to our Koonung Robotics Team on their fantastic effort at the VEX Victorian State Championship which was held in November. While the team did not make it to the finals, they achieved an outstanding result — ranked 12th out of 37 teams. This is an exceptional accomplishment, especially considering they only began working with the VEX robotics system in July this year. They fell just two places short of qualifying for the Nationals in Adelaide, but their teamwork, persistence, and problem-solving throughout the event were something to be genuinely proud of. Well done to all students involved — an amazing achievement for a first-year team!

Year 12 Food Studies concludes on a high (cake)...
Year 12 Food Studies celebrated our last class by making an enormous rainbow layer cake.
We were sure to link each stage and ingredient back to our curriculum as a fun and engaging exam revision task.

Food Technology - Year 9 Gourmet Traveller
Our Year 9 students have been getting creative in the kitchen!
This term, they explored the wonderful world of noodles — discovering where different types originate from, how they’re cooked, and how their unique properties make each variety and dish so different.
Students then took on the challenge of designing their own noodle dish from start to finish. They wrote their own design brief, created an original recipe, and researched their chosen ingredients before cooking and presenting their final creations in class time.
The results were incredible! Each student produced a unique and visually impressive dish, showing creativity, skill, and enthusiasm. Their hard work truly paid off — take a look below at some of their amazing creations!

Year 7 Textiles
This semester class 7J worked on creating a 'Block Printed Cushion Cover' as part of the textiles subject. Students learnt how to use and control a sewing machine, how to create a block and print onto fabric, and how to pin, iron and sew fabric, to create a cushion cover. A wide range of designs were created in a variety of colours!
