Grade Two

We are already halfway through Term 4 – this term is flying! The last term of the year is always an exciting and busy one, full of events, assessments, and lots of fun.

Everyone loved the excitement of the Colour Run last week, and we are so proud of the incredible amount of money raised. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success! The students had the biggest smiles on their faces all afternoon – it truly was a wonderful event enjoyed by all.

Grade 2 classes have  been busy practising for the end of year dance production. The songs are all huge hits with the students this year, and the performance is not to be missed! The students have been working hard on perfecting their dance moves and can’t wait to show them off on stage.

In English, we commenced the term by writing creative narrative writing pieces. The students worked hard to include descriptive language and to begin their stories with a bang, to hook their readers. We are now exploring procedural writing, where students are creating step-by-step instructions on a topic of their choice.

In Maths, students have been consolidating their understanding of a range of concepts taught throughout the year. They particularly enjoyed our Halloween-themed money unit, where they created shopping lists and ‘spent’ their allocated budget. The students have demonstrated great persistence and creativity, showing what fantastic mathematicians they are!

This term, our Integrated Studies unit is all about Creativity. Students are designing Dreamtime dioramas featuring Australian animal clay creatures. They have gathered inspiration from a range of Dreamtime stories to plan and sketch their designs, and we can’t wait to see their finished creations.

As the end of the year approaches, we would like to thank all our families for their ongoing support throughout 2025. We are incredibly proud of the students’ achievements and hard work this year.
