School Vision & Values

Learning about the value of Respect at WPS
At Warrandyte Primary School, Respect is at the heart of everything we do. It means valuing ourselves, others, and the world around us. We show respect by listening carefully, speaking kindly, and treating everyone with fairness and empathy. It’s reflected in the way we care for our historic school grounds, celebrate our diverse community, and acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we learn and play. Respect at Warrandyte Primary isn’t just a word—it’s a daily practice that helps us build a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where every student feels seen, valued, and ready to learn.
- Listen carefully when others are speaking.
- Use kind and polite words with teachers, classmates, and visitors.
- Look after school property, classrooms, and the playground.
- Include others in games and group activities.
- Follow instructions the first time they’re given.
- Take responsibility for your own actions and behaviour.
- Care for the environment by keeping our school clean and tidy.
- Acknowledge others’ ideas and celebrate everyone’s achievements.
- Show gratitude to helpers, staff, and family members who support you.
These simple actions help make Warrandyte Primary a place where everyone feels safe, valued, and respected.
We have begun the implementation of our Behaviour Intervention Strategies that teachers and education support staff use in the classroom and schoolwide. Below is the graphic that is in all classrooms and outlines the strategies we use when students are displaying behaviours that are not in line with our Behaviour expectations.
