As we stand on the threshold of sending our Year 10 mission teams to Vanuatu and Thailand, I’m reminded of the beautiful partnership we have with God in His work of restoration. At our commissioning assembly, a student from last year’s mission will share. When I asked, they humbly said, “It would be an honour; I reflect on it often.”
This trip is part of a larger story unfolding in our community. At our secondary Faith Camp, earlier this week, I witnessed a deep yearning among students - a desire to nurture each other’s faith and see God’s kingdom come in our midst. It reminds me of Jesus’ words in Matthew 6:10 - “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
Our vision as a Christ-centered College is to pursue excellence in education and character, equipping and empowering students to transform communities. These mission trips is one avenue, but it’s sustained by the generosity of you, our parents. From the Primary Silly Sock Day to the Secondary bake sale, each act of kindness is a reflection of Philippians 1:6 - “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.”
Today, we’ve met our fundraising goals, which is a wonderful testament to the provision of God. But more than that, we see transformation happening daily - whether in Vanuatu, through the Year 9 City Cite program, or in everyday moments. Worship, community, and mission are intertwined.
As we read in Hebrews 10:24, let’s spur each other on toward love and good deeds. My prayer is that we will continue to worship wholeheartedly, belong deeply, and live missionally - engaged, equipped, and empowered, as we trust Christ to transform our world.
