Primary Year 3-6

🔎I Spy… Lucy O’Brien and Max Jackson (Yr 4) and River Colenso and Eevo Soriano (Yr 5) were spotted displaying the PBL focus Socialise in a positive and safe manner (Excellence) and were the winners of our fortnightly canteen voucher raffle draw.

Our PBL focus for the next two weeks is 'Challenge myself to continually improve'. Teachers will be looking out for students who consistently make good choices both in the classroom and out in the yard.

🌟Congratulations Ella D’Andrea (Yr 5), who proudly represented in the U13 Girls Soccer Country Championships in Wodonga — and came home with a championship medal! 🏅 A huge achievement and a proud moment. Despite the very wintery conditions, Ella (and her team) pushed through and gave it their all. Well done, Ella!

🌟Sacrament of Confirmation

Last Tuesday, Bishop Rene Ramirez visited the Confirmation candidates as part of their preparation for the Sacrament next Friday 20th June. Bishop Ramirez is new to the role of Northern Auxiliary Bishop, following the retirement of Bishop Terry Curtin last year. He talked with the children about the importance of the Sacrament and how the Holy Spirit guides and protects us.

Please keep these Yr 6 children in your thoughts and prayers over the next week.

🌟Vinnies Winter Appeal🌟

Every year, St Mary's supports the Vinnies Winter Appeal, which is a vital resource for our local community. This year, we are going to hold a Pyjama Day on FRIDAY JUNE 27th and ask each child to bring a non-perishable or tinned food in return for wearing Pyjamas for the day. Pyjamas must be appropriate for wearing to school and dressing gown or jumpers/coats over the top are highly recommended!! Children must wear covered runners or covered shoes- no slippers or thongs/sandals for safety reasons. Thank you for your support.

🌟Lunchtime Clubs🌟

We had a positive start to our Lunchtime Clubs. Art and Comic Book Club last Monday and then the Primary Disco on Friday was a great success. Well done to all Yr 6 Leaders and to all the children in Year 6 who have supported these two initiatives- another great example of Yr 6 leadership and commitment!

🌟Yr 6 also worked with their Foundation Buddies on a Reconciliation Week activity about co-operation and inclusion.

🌟Yr 6 have enjoyed the Taekwondo lessons this past fortnight with George and Trent as have all the Year 3-6 children. It is great to see such progress by the children and positive feedback from the instructors.

🌟Yr 6 partnered up last week to practise their Indonesian language skills, focusing on colours and the names of classroom objects . Keep up the good world Year 6 !

✝️Parish Mass✝️

We would like to acknowledge and commend our Year 3 and Year 4 students for their outstanding behaviour during Mass last week. They were exceptionally reverent and respectful throughout the service, participating with quiet reflection and thoughtful attention. Their respectful presence and understanding of the sacredness of the Mass truly reflected our school values. Both staff and parishioners commented on how beautifully the students conducted themselves. We are very proud of their efforts and the way they represented our school community.

🎤Assemblies🎤

Our next F-6 assembly will be held Friday 20th June, 2.30pm in the PLC.

Have a great fortnight 😊
