Performing Arts News

Hi Tarneit Rise families,
It’s been another fun and busy fortnight in the Performing Arts room!
Our Prep students have begun exploring instruments, including their voices and untuned percussion instruments. Students have had fun exploring how to use their instruments to make different types of sounds, including high, low, loud, soft, fast and slow sounds. They have also been developing their listening skills by practicing playing in time with the teacher performing together as a group.
Students in Grade 1 and Grade 2 have completed a singing assessment, where they demonstrated their ability to sing in tune, keep a steady beat, and perform with confidence. Classes used student voice to choose a song to learn, and spent a number of weeks rehearsing and improving their performance, including focusing on pitch and dynamics.
Grade Six students getting creative by adding instruments to their class composition
In Grades 3 to 6, students have been working hard to add verses to their class song compositions. Alongside this, they have been learning new musical elements of music such as tone, timbre and texture, which they’re now applying to enhance their songs. This week all of our senior students will have the chance to add instrumentation to their compositions and perform them to an audience. We can’t wait to see the finished product!
We’re so proud of all the students and the creativity they’re showing in their music learning!
See you in the Performing Arts room!
