Principal's Report

Tim Mulhall - Principal

Reports Timetable

It is the time of year where our teachers are diligently writing Semester Reports for your children. You can expect reports to come home early in Week 11, the week beginning the 30th of June.

After School Supervision

We know that after school time is a great opportunity for students to play around the grounds with friends, and likewise, it can be an important time for our families to connect - we love this about our school!

To support child safety, we ask that all students wait in the front of school playground area when they do not have their parent or guardian with them. This helps us keep everyone safe and ensures that we can supervise students until 3:45pm.

If you are onsite supervising your child, you’re very welcome to enjoy other areas of the school grounds together and with other families.

Trivia Night

The outfits were fantastic, and it was wonderful to see such a strong showing from our community, with many familiar and new faces in the crowd. I found myself pausing a few times throughout the night, simply appreciating how nice it is to be part of the Marlborough Primary School community.

If you weren’t able to join us this year, we hope to see you next year!

A big thank you to:

  • Our Parents’ and Friends’ Association – for the significant effort that goes into organising this event and many others throughout the year. Your contributions add so much value to our school.
  • Simon Vistarini – for once again stepping into the role of Quiz Master. You took us on a fun, nostalgic journey with well-crafted, engaging trivia rounds. Hopefully, you can enjoy having your evenings back (at least for a little while).
  • Kerryn Sandford and Heathmont Secondary College – for so generously supporting the event through the use of their venue and facilities.

3D Printer

With the remainder of the Shop for Your Schools money, we’re excited to share that we will soon be welcoming a brand-new 3D multi-material printer. This will allow us to print with multiple colours and materials, opening up incredible opportunities for creativity, problem-solving, and innovation across many areas of learning.

I look forward to working with groups of students to explore how we can bring their ideas to life, from designing and printing prototypes to experimenting with more advanced projects that combine art, science, and technology. This is a fantastic way to build our students’ skills in design thinking, digital technologies, and collaborative project work.

We can’t wait to see what our students will create!

Rubbish-Free Lunches

I’d like to thank many of you for getting on board and supporting students to bring rubbish-free lunchboxes to school. Our school leaders are passionate about this student-designed and led project, which goes beyond reducing waste to include sustainable food disposal through our new compost bins.

We know this takes extra effort and isn’t always as convenient as throwing together a lunchbox. This is something I fully appreciate when packing lunches for my own children.

Not only are we creating a cleaner, more pleasant school environment, but we’re also helping students learn to take responsibility for their waste and understand their impact on the world around them. These small habits make a big difference in building lifelong environmental awareness and care.

Warmly,

Tim Mulhall
