Physical Education

In Grade 6 PE, we are learning a new game called Tchoukball (pronounced 'Chookball'). A game invented in Switzerland in the 1960s, it is a game involving bouncing the ball off a rebound net where students are required to use skills such as anticipation, spatial awareness and fast reflexes. We have been learning by scaffolding it into 5 levels across 2 weeks, introducing new rules each time to build up a full game of what is quite a complex game. This week, Grade 6s played a full court version of the game with all rules and tactics in play. The Grade 6s had a ball (pun intended!) working together to win round robin competitions.

Across Grade 3-5, we are learning netball skills and rules to build towards playing a full game. Last week, we played adapted game sense games to work on the skills and introduce netball rules including a very fun Cops and Robbers style netball game which has been very popular across all year levels. This week we have played a full game learning positions and applying the rules and skills we've learnt into a proper game of netball.

It's been a very fun week in PE. Looking is looking forward to another great one next week!
