National Careers Week

National Careers Week was celebrated in May with vibrant displays, daily competitions, and key events including the Year 11 and 12 TIS. Congratulations to James Mazzolini’s Loreto 3, now back-to-back Tutor Group champions! A special mention to Jesse Jagoe (Year 11) for being the first to correctly match all staff to their former jobs in the Jobs of Their Past competition.

Aviation Careers Expo

On 6 May, six enthusiastic students from Years 10–12 attended the Aviation Careers Expo at Latrobe Regional Airport. Students explored the heli-med base, toured the GippsAero manufacturing centre, and gained insight into a range of aviation career pathways. Well done to Christian Jamieson-Bone, Alana Downie, Veronica Pollard, Peyton Parker, Elijah Ryan, and Angus Dunsmuir.

Inspiring Careers in Health Camp

Seven students successfully applied for the Inspiring Careers in Health Camp held on 21–22 May. Organised by Baw Baw Latrobe LLEN, the camp included rotations in Physiotherapy, Nursing, Midwifery, and Exercise Science at Federation University, followed by an industry dinner and hands-on TAFE rotations in Aged Care and Allied Health. Congratulations to Chloe Hannath, Ebony Strauss, Millie Francis, Emilia Corporente, Tegan Eeltink, Isabella Reitsma, and Shiveka Sharma for their engagement in this opportunity.

Year 9 Morrisby Program

The Year 9 Morrisby Program is now underway. Most students have access to the platform via www.morrisby.com.au, and interviews with Careers Team members are in progress this term. Parents/Carers are encouraged to log in and explore their child’s results and suggested career pathways.

Year 10 Work Placement

Work Placement preparation sessions for Year 10 are complete. Students will attend their placements from 16 – 27 June. We wish them all the best as they gain valuable real-world experience!

Year 12 Alumni Mentor Breakfast

The Year 12 Alumni Mentor Breakfast will take place on Wednesday 4 June. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to network with past students and gain insights into post-school pathways.

Subject Selection for 2026

Students in Years 8 – 11 and their families are encouraged to start discussions around subject selection for 2026. Year-level information sessions and a Subject Selection Expo will be held during the final week of Term 2. Stay tuned for further communication.
