In The Spotlight

Courtney Thompson

Hey there! My name is Courtney Thompson and I'm a Learning Mentor here at OGPS. I have the privilege to work with so many little legends at our school.

I’m from a very sporty background. We live and breed sports in our family. My husband is a baseball player from Seattle Washington and we have an amazing son named Da’Vontae who is 8. We spend most weekends watching him play baseball and basketball. Students around the school also may relate to me as “The Basketballer”. I have been heavily involved in basketball since I was 5. I have played in America at College and now I’m enjoying giving my knowledge to others through coaching.

When we have some down time away from sport I like to go to Warrnambool and visit my family and friends. We also enjoy family fun time on the beautiful beaches around our area.

I’m so lucky to be working at this phenomenal school and if I haven’t met you yet please feel free to come say hi!

Johnrey Humber

Hi there! I’m Johnrey, one of the Learning Mentors here at OGPS.

Born in the Philippines and raised in the wilds of Tasmania (Thylacines do exist… they’re just good at hide-and-seek), I now call the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula home. I live with my partner, our amazing daughter (a student at OGPS), and our mischievous Cavoodle, Bonti, who clearly thinks he’s the family MVP (named after one of the AFL’s top dogs, I’m reluctant to talk about the family tension this causes… you see, I’m a diehard Collingwood supporter who bleeds black and white). Go Pies!

When I’m not at school, you’ll often find me enjoying some downtime in our delightful little log cabin, or pottering around the garden like a gnome with a spade and watering can. When wanderlust hits, I’m plotting the next family adventure or spontaneous road trip - I love exploring new places and the great outdoors, usually filming/taking photos the entire time like I’m some kind of influencer.

After more than a decade in the fast-paced world of advertising and design, I feel incredibly lucky to have landed at OGPS. Working with joyful little humans and a community of legends every day? It’s honestly the best gig I’ve ever had.
