SPOTLIGHT ON MUSIC
We have been having so much fun in Music this term!
Students have enjoyed singing, moving to music, playing instruments, and working together on creative activities. It’s been a great way to build confidence and teamwork through music.
Here are just some of the activities that students have been involved in so far this term:
Prep – Exploring the topic of ‘Pirates’ and ‘The Sea’, incorporating scarves and other props to feel and identify tempo, rhythm and mood.
Year 1 – Identifying and discussing the role music plays in celebrations. Also, learning to perform body percussion sounds and actions to enhance a piece of music.
Year 2 – Learning how to play the Boomwhackers and experimenting with beat and rhythm.
Year 3 – Identifying key features of Indigenous Music through singing and playing the song 'The Rainbow Snake’.
Year 4 – Participating in drum circle games and activities.
