Classroom News/Celebrations

Work samples and highlights from our super talented students this past fortnight

Leadership Day - Last Friday the 16th of May, the Class Captains, House Captains and School Captains from year 1-6 went to Batesford and we spent the day out there to learn about leadership. We did lots of fun activities and we learnt a lot about being a leader. I learnt that teamwork is an important skill of a good leader.  We also read a biography about Matt Formstrom and his life achievements. I liked learning about goal setting and how it’s important to set goals as a leader, so you have something to aim for. We talked about the goals that we would like to achieve this year as leaders and how we can make Rollins PS a better place.

Young Leaders Breakfast - On Wednesday, 7th May, I had the privilege of taking our four school leaders to the Young Leaders Breakfast at North Geelong Secondary College. Alongside students from other schools, they heard from guest speaker Justine Martin, an inspiring businesswoman and disability advocate who shared her journey of overcoming adversity. The event encouraged students to reflect on her messages and how these could support their leadership goals and aspirations. We thank North Geelong Secondary College for hosting and inviting us to this valuable experience.
