6th Sunday of Easter - Year C
✨ Gospel Reflection – Sixth Sunday of Easter (Year C)
Gospel: John 14:23–29
Jesus said to his disciples: “Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our dwelling with them... Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you."
🎇 Reflection:
In this passage from John's Gospel, Jesus offers reassurance to his disciples before his departure. He promises that love for Him is shown through obedience to His word, and that such love brings the presence of God into our lives.
This presence isn't just symbolic; it's a real and intimate indwelling - “we will come to them and make our dwelling with them.”
What follows is perhaps one of the most comforting lines in all of Scripture: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.” This peace is not the fragile, fleeting peace the world offers - dependent on circumstance - but a deep, abiding peace rooted in the presence of God. Even as Jesus speaks of his departure, he urges his disciples not to be troubled or afraid. He’s offering something stronger than reassurance - he’s giving them the Holy Spirit, who will continue to teach and guide them.
This moment invites us to reflect on how we welcome God's presence in our lives, how we live out Jesus' teaching, and whether we truly receive and rely on His peace- especially in times of anxiety, uncertainty, or transition.
🗣️ Discussion Starters:
Some thoughtful questions to spark conversation with the family:
1. “Whoever loves me will keep my word.”
What does it mean to “keep Jesus' word” in our lives today?
How do we show our love for Jesus through our actions, especially in a world that often resists Gospel values?
2. “My peace I give to you.”
What’s the difference between the peace Jesus offers and the peace the world offers?
Can you share a time when you experienced God’s peace in a difficult situation?
3. “Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.”
What causes fear or anxiety in your life today? How can faith help you respond differently?
What spiritual practices help you to stay calm and trust in God?
4. God “will come to them and make our dwelling with them.”
How do you recognize God’s presence in your daily life?
Are there ways you can make your heart more open to becoming a dwelling place for God?
🙏 Closing Prayer:
Lord Jesus,Thank you for your promise of peace.Help us to live in your word and keep your commandments.Fill our hearts with your Spirit, so we may be your dwelling place and a source of peace to others.Calm our fears, strengthen our faith, and guide us in your love.
Amen.

GRADE 5/6 SOCIAL JUSTICE TEAM – MINI VINNIES
MONDAY ACTION TEAMS
Monday the Mini Vinnies Action Team continued to work on Morning Reminder slides, posters and newsletter items to advertise our Winter Appeal.
The Winter Appeal will also allow Houses another chance to earn House points. Students will be asked to put their donations into their House decorated hamper in their Learning Space which will be placed in the Learning Spaces on Monday. Mini Vinnies will then count the donations for each House. These totals will then go towards House points.
WINTER APPEAL – FEAST OF THE SACRED HEART
Later this term, on Friday June 27th we will be celebrating the Feast of the Sacred Heart. To follow in Jesus’ footsteps, we will be asking SFS families to donate to our Winter Appeal.
Items such as non-perishable foods: canned goods, pasta, sugar, flour and toiletries. These items will then be collected by the Hampton Park St Vincent de Paul Conference and distributed to the people within our community experiencing challenges.
