Year 6 Arcade Games Fundraiser

My name is Isla, my name is Amelia and my name is Abigail representing Grade 6.

We are here today to fill you in on the Arcade Games that we had on the 14th and 15th of May during Education Week.

Grade 6s spent over a month planning, designing and building arcade games to share to the IPS community and raise money to reduce the cost of the Grade 6 Canberra Tour taking place in term 4 this year. Our games were fantastic and caught a lot of people's attention.

Over the period of 2 days, we raised about $2000 from all our communities' contributions. On top of that we have the money from our Election Day sausage sizzle and cake stall. Adding up from all our fundraising events we have raised approximately $6000 dollars.

Thank you so much to all the people that have donated their time and money. Also, a special shout out to all the grade 6 teachers to set up and being really supportive of our games. Thank you!

Year 5 Global Cafe

Grade 5B welcomed the community into our classroom during open morning. As a celebration of culture our aim was to create dishes for a "Global Cafe". We thought about how food is described in a persuasive way on menus so that customers are enticed to eat it. We then created captivating, cultural cuisine out of only a few different art resources we had in our classroom. Can you work out which traditional foods from around the world are represented?

Year 1

Year 1 are learning about Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. As part of this we have collected up old, broken crayons and reused them to make new ones!

What Is OUTRAGEOUS?

Firstly, what is That’s Outrageous? That’s Outrageous is student run newspaper previously exclusive to Grade 6. However, now, after the principal and vice principal’s approval, we are now preparing to expand it and sell it to raise money for the school.

This week, we have made it free so you can have a taste of That’s Outrageous. Then we aim to sell it (it will need to cover printing costs)...

However, we cannot write a newspaper for the entire school without help. Currently, we have fourteen people writing, interviewing, and editing, but, as we are expanding to the whole school, we need more volunteers.
