Student Leadership

The past few weeks have been busy but incredibly rewarding for our SRC team, and we wanted to share some of the highlights with you.

As part of Environmental Week, students from Years 7 to 9 each took time out of one of their classes to head outside and help clean up rubbish around the school grounds. It wasn’t just about picking up litter, it was about showing pride in our environment and making sure that the spaces we all share reflect the respect we have for our school community. Walking around afterwards, it really felt like our collective effort made a difference. We hope this is the start of more environmentally focused initiatives that help build a culture of responsibility and care.

Another highlight for us was getting the chance to support the school production. Across all three nights, SRC members volunteered as ushers, helping audience members find their seats, creating a welcoming atmosphere, and making sure everything ran smoothly. It was such a great experience to see the production from behind the scenes, and we are beyond proud of the entire cast and crew. The talent and commitment on display was honestly inspiring, and we hope you were able to enjoy their incredible performance as much as we did.

We’ve also been hard at work behind the scenes on something that means a lot to our senior students, the very first Year 12 Yearbook. This has been a project three years in the making, and seeing it finally come together has been amazing. From collecting memories and photos to putting together pages that capture the spirit of our cohort, the process has been both challenging and exciting. We cannot wait to share the final product with our fellow Year 12s, it’s going to be something we can all look back on with pride.

Looking ahead, we are very excited to announce that Edgars Creek’s Got Talent, our very own talent show, is happening at the end of this term! This is always a huge highlight, giving students the chance to showcase their amazing skills and creativity in front of the school community. If you’d like to be part of it, make sure you sign up through your noticeboard. And if you’ve got any questions at all, feel free to ask Maria Y. We can’t wait to see the incredible talent that Edgars Creek has to offer this year!

It’s been a big term so far, but we’re really proud of what we’ve accomplished as a team. Thank you to everyone who continues to support SRC events and initiatives, you are what makes these projects possible.
