Student Wellbeing and Engagement

This term, our wellbeing theme has centred around positive friendships and relationships, a vital foundation for student growth, resilience and happiness. Students across the school have had opportunities to connect, reflect and strengthen the skills needed to build safe, respectful and supportive relationships both at school and beyond.

Friendship Day

ECSC staff and students celebrated Friendship Day with a range of lunchtime activities designed to build connections and celebrate the friendships we value in our community. Activities included the Wheel of Friendship, Speed Friendship, UNO competitions and friendship bracelet making. All events had a fantastic turnout, with groups of friends using this time to celebrate and strengthen their bonds.

Year 10 Health Day – Love Bites

A big thank you to our Year 10 students who participated in the Love Bites program. The day focused on developing knowledge about respectful friendships and relationships, understanding rights and responsibilities, and exploring where to access support if needed.

The level of engagement and discussion was excellent, with staff praising the maturity and thoughtfulness shown by our students. A special thank you to our facilitators, who created a safe and engaging space for students to explore these important topics.

Year 12 – Bite Size Life Skill Sessions

As our Year 12 students approach the end of their schooling, they have had the opportunity to engage with Angelica from our Wellbeing Team in Bite Size Life Skill Sessions. These sessions have supported students in preparing for life after school, with practical discussions about applying for a passport, accessing Centrelink services, tax file numbers, applying for jobs, and where to seek wellbeing support in the future. These sessions have been a valuable opportunity for students to ask questions and build confidence as they take their next steps beyond ECSC.

Upcoming Events

R U OK? Day - Thursday 11 September

Year 9 Health Day - Wednesday 8 October

As we close out this term’s focus on positive friendships and relationships, it has been wonderful to see our students engaging with each other in meaningful ways, from celebrating Friendship Day, to exploring respectful relationships in Year 10, and preparing for life beyond school in Year 12. Strong, supportive connections are what make our school community thrive, and we are proud of the way our students continue to build and nurture these.
