Attendance Matters

Student attendance at Lyndhurst Primary School is a high priority.  We enjoy having ALL of our students present at school ALL day, each and every day.

At 9:00am each classroom participates in a 'Welcome Circle'.  This is an important part of the day where students and teachers welcome eachother.  The Welcome Circle supports students to establish membership in the class while developing a classroom community culture. Important information is discussed allowing students to prepare themselves for the day.

Late Arrivals: a recent analysis of the late arrival data in the last two week period shows that there were a total 387 late arrivals.  This very extremely high!

Arriving late to school results in students missing the opportunity to connect with thier class and receive the important messages of the day.  Classrooms are open from 8:50am each morning and we encourage all students to arrive by this time to settle in before the day begins.

We ask that families make it a priority to ensure students arrive prior to 9:00am each day.

Early Departures: a recent analysis of the early departure data in the last two week period shows that there were a total of 161early depatures.  This is very high!

Derparting early from school interrupts the whole class, not just the indivual being collected.  Early departures often result in students missing valuable classroom instruction which can also effect future lessons.

As previously shared with the school community, we ask that students are collected at the beginning or the end of break times to ensure minimal interruption to student learning.

Please note: the administration office are unable to sign students out during a school assembly and after 3:00pm.

We ask that families hold value in all students being present for the duration of the school day.
