First Nations Immersion

Earlier this month, Reese Messina and Mikayla Connolly had the opporuntity to travel to Brisbane for this years KEM First Nationas Immersions
An exceptional experience for these two students, allowing themselves to dive into the rich history and culture of First Nations people, reflections from the students below.
"This year the First Nations Immersion camp was located in Brisbane, where myself and Mikayla had an amazing opportunity to learn from many elders about first nations people, their culture and traditions. We also had the chance to participate in group bonding activities with fellow kildare ministry schools, these activities included canoeing and a giant swing. This camp was a great chance to connect to nature and each other."

"Over the 12th to the 14th of May, Reese and I had the amazing opportunity to attend the Kildare Ministries First Nations Immersion Camp in Brisbane alongside other Kildare Ministries schools from around Australia. We listened to Aunty Kathy open up about her life as a First Nations woman, as well as exploring the idea of connection by going around in a circle and sharing our stories past down from our ancestors. On the second day, I really enjoyed the team building activities we took part in, canoeing and possum glider. It helped me build friendships with girls from the other schools. I had so much fun and am so grateful to have had the opportunity to attend. "- Mikayla Connolly
