From the Principal

Hi everyone,

We have had another few busy weeks here at school.

Our JSC fundraiser this term - Tracky Dack Day - raised $458 for the TLC (Tender Loving Care for Kids) charity. Thank you to our students and community for supporting this event. We look forward to our next fundraiser, along with Book Week next term. Two dress up occasions make Term 3 one to look forward to!

Our Year 2 students went to the Melbourne Zoo and the Year 1 students walked to the local Woolworths as part of their learning this term. Thank you to the parent helpers who volunteered their time to come and support both events.

Our 5 representatives have been at the Eastern Region Cross Country event today - we are very proud of their achievements in getting to the Regional event. Congratulations to Olive who finished in the top 10 (7th) and will now compete at the State Championship. A huge congratulations also goes to Michael in Year 6 who participated in the National Judo Competition over the long weekend in Queensland. For the second consecutive year he won the National Championship in both Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

You may also have noticed some work being done on the Holland Road side impacting the green gate. We have relocated some rocks to make the 'jumping rocks' (close to the Wicking) flatter and more stable. On the other side of this path we are adding a garden with border seating which will allow us to have a clear boundary between garden and paths/play space.

We are also beginning work behind the amphitheatre (across the road!) to develop this over the coming months with additional play areas for the students. The first step is the installation of two Gaga pits with the area fenced off whilst these are constructed.

We anticipate these two projects to be completed prior to the end of term.
