Dear Parents and Caregivers
Reconciliation Week Liturgy
Our students and staff came together on Monday to acknowledge and pray together for Reconciliation Week. Thank you Miss Kaylene Bederson for planning and coordinating the Reconciliation Week Liturgy.
Sacrament of Eucharist
Congratulations to all our students and children in the Parish who received the Sacrament of Eucharist for the first time over the last couple of weekends at St Helena of the Holy Cross Church. Thank you to Kristy-Lee Parker and Rheannon Bellman for preparing the students and to Luke Vine and Mel Myles for assisting the Parish with the Sacrament.
First Reconciliation
Keep in our prayers our Year 3 students and all the students in our Parish preparing for their First Reconciliation on Thursday 19 June.
Seasons for Growth
It has been wonderful to offer the Seasons for Growth program again at St Helena's Catholic Primary School. Small groups of children work with a trained adult companion (facilitator) who supports the children in learning new ways to share, think about and respond to the changes and losses in their lives. Parents/Caregivers were given the opportunity to nominate their child to be a part of the program that commenced recently. Thank you to our amazing Social Worker, Elise Johnson, for facilitating this program and making it available to our students.
P&F Events
Thank you to the P&F for your contribution in purchasing the new benches around our Year 1 and Year 2 verandahs and around the Year 3 to Year 6 play spaces. The students are loving having more places to sit down and have a chat with their friends at recess and lunch.
Thank you to Naomi Fogden for your time and contribution to the P&F Committee in the first half of the year. We hope that you join again in the future! We welcome on to the P&F Committee, Alexandra Urbanski as our new Secretary.
Year 6 Camp
Our Year 6 students and staff are looking forward to their Camp coming up on Wednesday 4 June at the Woodman Point Recreation Camp. Keep them all in our prayers for a safe and enjoyable camp experience.
Staff Professional Learning - Student Free Days
Our staff are looking forward to our upcoming Staff Professional Learning Days. A reminder to our parents and caregivers that there is no school this Friday or next Tuesday due to our Staff' Professional Learning Days. Students return after the student free days and long weekend on Wednesday 4 June. Enjoy the break and have the children take the opportunity to recharge as we head into the second half of Term 2.
Thank You!
Thank you Miss Mel Myles for your time and efforts as Acting Principal in my absence for the last couple of weeks. Thank you also to Mr Luke Vine for his continued efforts and support, and to Mrs Mary Tierney Dusenberg who also did a great job in the Acting Assistant Principal role. Very much appreciated! All our staff do an awesome job each and every day, hence, why it is such a great team!
Peace & Happy Days!
