Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to a bright Term 4!  The children have settled very well and we are gearing up for a big week next week with our whole school production.  Information regarding the running sheet for production day rehearsals and night performance have been sent separately to families earlier this week.

Please keep Mr Tim Noonan (Past Principal) in your prayers as he manages a serious health issue.  We wish him all the best and a speedy recovery.

Mrs Earle's Farewell

Next Friday 18th October we will be holding a farewell assembly for Mrs. Earle in the School hall beginning at 2:50pm.  All families are invited to attend.  Mrs Earle has been teaching at St. Patrick's School since 1999!  We wish her all the best in her retirement.

Staffing Updates

I am pleased to announce that we have employed Mrs Susan Williams to join our team as our new Performing Arts teacher beginning in 2025.  Mrs Williams is an experienced Performing Arts Teacher and I am sure she will be an asset for our school.

Further staffing announcements will occur later this term as they are almost finalised for the 2025 school year.

In 2025 we will have around 460 students across 21 classrooms (3 straight classes per year level P-6), this gives us an average class size of approximately 22 students per class.

Pyjamas Day on Friday 18th October

On Friday 18th of October the Year 6 SRC students will be holding a Pyjamas Day to celebrate the end of a huge production week.  All children are invited to attend school in their favourite onesie or pyjamas.  Please ensure that runners/shoes are also worn to protect feet during the day.  There is no gold coin donation for this day.

Welcome to new Students

We warmly welcome the following new students to the St. Patrick's Community:

Mark H - Year 4

Sienna H - Year 3

Harvey S - Year 2

Jack H - Year 1

Harry J - Year 1

Lilia C - Prep

Garden refurbishment

Well done to our Groundsman/Handyman Danny on the recent refurbishment in the kitchen garden area.  All year levels will have their own garden box (to be completed), as well as the relocation of the chook pen to happen next year.  Rumor has it, that the area in front of the garden will be converted into a mini putting golf green!  Watch this space for more exciting ideas from Danny.

Summer Uniform

From the start of Term 4 all students can begin to wear their School Summer Uniform. The full transition to Summer Uniform will be by Monday 21st October (Week 3, Term 4).  Please note that as we are a sunsmart school, all students are required to wear their school hats from the first day of Term 4 whilst outside.  There will be a 1 week grace period for this.  At the start of Week 2, Term 4 all staff will be enforcing the 'no hat, no play' policy.  I also strongly encourage all students to wear sunscreen every day and to reapply sunscreen before going out to lunch.

P & F Colour Run

Don't forget that we will be holding our first ever colour run on Friday 1st November.  Please use the following link to register your child/children for this exciting event https://colourblast.com.au/registration/?stpatsmentone

The colour run will now be held on the school grounds due to logistics on the day.

The fundraising for this event will go directly to our P & F project of replacing the senior students adventure playground.  We have selected our playground company and the design, and are in the process of finalising the colour scheme.

The following link can be used to organise/track how our school is going with reaching our target!
