Year 4/5 Camp Blue Lagoon

Our Year 4 and 5 classes went on a camp to Blue Lagoon at Dodges Ferry for three days last week. Below are some of the activities Year 4 students enjoyed while on camp.

Camp was like a big family, it felt really nice that kids and teachers would care for me. My favourite bit of it was the big swing. It was so scary but fun. I tried a lot of cool drinks I have not tried. And they were so good but I can’t remember their names.

Billie

I love the cabins, the rock climbing, the games and the park. The food was okay. I love the teacher run activities! They were so fun and frustrating.

Maisy

Camp was a very new experience. I loved it that we got to do the big swing, rock climbing and crate climbing. It was very fun and exciting. My favourite part about camp was that we got to do crate climbing, even though we didn’t get to do abseiling I still had lots of fun. I also loved night games and the talent night. I have never done the big swing, crate climbing or a talent night, but now I know what it is like, and it was so fun.

Scarlett

We did some really exciting things like archery, crate climbing, the big swing and indoor rock climbing and we had amazing food. In indoor rock climbing you are climbing on an indoor rock climbing wall. In the big swing you go up because the class is pulling the rope and you pull the red rope and then you do a big drop. My favourite part is the big swing and archery. Something I tried that was new was indoor rock climbing, big swing and crate climbing. Let’s not forget the harness and the helmet!

Abigail

Camp was fun and since I have been to the camp site twice before I liked seeing the place again. It was a bit of a shame that we couldn’t go abseiling because of the weather but we still had lots of fun. These are the activities we did: crate climbing (I got up to a stack of seven but I’ve gotten up to ten when I went on a different camp), night games (spotlight and sardines), rock climbing, giant swing, generals (where you have a card and you have to tag the king on the other team), archery (I didn’t hit the target).

Primary PE News

In the Primary school, we have had a basketball coach join us to the end of the term. Hannah is a professional basketballer and is about to play for Geelong United. The Year 1, 2 and 6 classes enjoyed the coaching session last week and participated in dribbling, passing and catching drills in preparation for a game. All of these skills are not only valuable for basketball but also for other sports, as well as improving the students' gross motor skills.

Keep up the good work everyone!

  • All students are required to have a swim cap. Coloured swim caps in house colours are available through the SCC uniform shop.
  • All students are required to bring a t-shirt and shorts to the Friday water safety lesson.

Parents are invited to attend but will need to sign in at the venue and no photography or video is permitted at the venue for child protection reasons.
