Ready, Steady... Go! It was action-packed at the Yr 3-6 Touch Gala day. Students of all abilities participated in a great day that allowed them to develop game skills and participate with a variety of students. From all reports, our students were well-behaved and can be congratulated on their involvement in the day's success. Thanks to all the teachers who helped enable this day to go ahead successfully.
It has been noticed that so many of our students are proudly wearing their uniforms, including hats on their heads. This proved to be of great benefit even when our students competed in the Touch Gala day and the K-2 Athletics carnival with our temperatures and exposure to the sun being quite high and for long periods.
The countdown is on for the remainder of this term although, it seems to have raced by so quickly. Students are still encouraged to wear their uniform with pride right up until the last day and into the next term. If your child is unable to wear their uniform don't hesitate to get in touch with your child's classroom teacher or write a note explaining the circumstances of the change.
Our Year 3-6 classes have been busy preparing and constructing their public speaking routines. They perform in front of their peers and some will perform across the grade. Only 4 speeches per year will be selected to be performed on Monday 23 September for the finals. This will be held in the morning and families are welcome to hear the Finals. Speeches commence at 10 am through till 11:40 am.
We had some students across the years compete in Gunnedah for the Brain Olympia finals. They demonstrated great respect and participation on the day. Well done everyone!

Please note that we have planned a Year 6-7 transition day on Tuesday 24, September. Our students will be adventuring into the realm of Secondary. Several students have mentioned that they "Feel ready for what is to come." mentioned several of our Year 6 students.
During Terms 2 and 3, students from Stages 3, 4, and 5 participated in the Armidale Diocese Debating Competition, an annual event coordinated by Ms. Kerrie Priddis and open to all schools within the Armidale CSO. Holy Trinity School has once again achieved exceptional success in this competition. Out of 10 debates, our students won all but 1 round. As a result, Holy Trinity School has been declared the overall “Winner” in the Stage 3, Stage 4, and Stage 5 categories.
A big thank you to Jane Taylor who was a great mentor, facilitator and guide for our young debaters. Terrific work everyone!
A few words from Mrs Jane Taylor:
This team deserves congratulations for their eagerness to share responsibilities, work collaboratively, and genuinely listen to each other. Their enthusiasm and effort are matched only by their openness to developing new skills and embracing feedback. I am excited by the prospect of working with these outstanding speakers as they advance to Stage 4. Congratulations to Addi, Eva, Isabel, Zalie, Roxy, and Albert—your dedication and success are truly commendable.
