Co-curricular - Junior Sport Stage 3

It was great to see all the boys dressed and prepared for their sport photos yesterday. On a very tight schedule, the boys were well prepared and helped the afternoon to run smoothly. The photo day always serves as a great reminder of the large number of sporting teams we have in the Junior School. (Stage 3). It is a testament to the boys’ commitment, passion, and pride in representing the College. I look forward once more to the recommencement of the Summer season in Term 4, to see this on display.

Over the weekend, Josph Youssef and Jonah Ayoub participated in a NSW Rugby Union training camp. The boys spent their time at the NSW Waratahs headquarters where they participated in training sessions, team building activities and games. The weekend culminated in an exhibition match against the SPC 13As side. Congratulations to Jonah and Joseph for reaching this high-level team and for representing the College well.

The draft draw and draft training schedule have been made available on the SPC App. Please have a look at both documents to assist with your future planning. As the documents are both in draft form currently, they are subject to change. The draw is subject to weekly changes and needs to be reviewed each week in conjunction with the release of the weekly draw. The training schedule is subject to change as coaches are onboarded. I will keep updating the draw and training schedule as required but am hopeful of minimal updates as we approach the beginning of Term 4.

As the weather begins to heat up (we might need to ignore this week), it is important that boys are protecting themselves from the sun. All boys should be wearing their black caps at Recess and Lunch times, as well as in PE lessons. Boys should also have a water bottle with them as well, to help keep themselves hydrated.

A message from the Junior School (Stage 3) PE staff. Term 4 will see all boys involved in swimming during practical PE lessons. Boys will be required to wear their swimmers under their College uniform on PE days and change into their PE uniform as per usual. Boys will need to bring underwear to change into after the completion of their swimming lesson. Swimming will commence from Week 1 in Term 4. These lessons will then lead into our House Swimming Carnival to be held at Birrong Leisure and Aquatic Centre later in Term 4.
