Hello Everyone,
Curriculum Day
On Monday, the curriculum day, our staff participated in Community Understanding and Safety Training. This professional learning helped staff to increase their understanding of Koorie culture, history, and experiences. The purpose of the training is to ensure a strong foundation for culturally inclusive schools and practices, which can have a positive impact on Koorie students’ health and wellbeing. It also enabled staff to consider other cultures within our school community and to ensure that we are promoting a safe environment for all of our students.
The presenters gifted us a book to add to our First Nations area in the library.
New Playgrounds
Our new Year 1-2 and Year 3-6 playgrounds are almost complete. They are looking great and I know that the students are very keen to get in and explore them (and I think some teachers are too!).
We are waiting for the mulching (soft-fall) to be finished and the playground inspected for safety and compliance. Once all of that has been done and the fencing removed, the playgrounds will open.
2024 Term 4 Challenge of the Week
This term, the challenge will be a variety of tasks that require you to think as broadly as you can. The more weird and wonderful, the better! You may need to draw designs or write words to answer the challenge.
You must collaborate with 1 -3 friends or family members (no more than 4 people per entry).
Week 1’s Challenge
How many different ways can you peel a banana?
Please hand your answers to the office before 3.30pm on Wednesday 16th October.
Kind regards,
Deanne Scott
