Hello, from Carolyn.
Respect, responsibility and kindness
Hello everyone,
Road safety and driver behaviour at our school.
Everyone is responsible for helping our students, staff and families to be safe at drop off and pick up times at our school. It is dangerous and disappointing that a small number of our families using Webster St continue to park illegally, encourage their children to cross the road away from the school crossing and do U turns at the T intersection of Webster St and Old Violet St. EVERYONE has a responsibility to do the right thing, follow the road rules and work to keep all members of our school community safe.
Local council parking officers and the highway patrol have been asked to make regular visits to our school to ensure everyone is doing the right thing.
Photographing, filming and recording students policy.
This week, School Council approved our updated Photographing, filming and recording students policy', you can find a copy of the policy here and the consent form here. The policy is available on our website. Next term, we will be sending out the consent form via Sentral so there is no need to complete a hard copy of the form.
It is important to note, that when parents/carers/family members are attending school events and they would like to take photographs, you are able to photograph your own child but not take group images of their child amongst other children whose parents may not have given permission for their child's image to be taken.
Can you help find Squidy?
We don't usually include requests about lost items in our newsletter however Squidy is a very special support toy for one of our students and they are missing him dreadfully. Squidy was left at the sandpit when the students went inside after lunch on Tuesday and he wasn't out there when the student went to look for him. We think Squidy is having an adventure at another student's home. If you know where Squidy is, please return him to the office. Thank you.
Hats time!
Thank you to all the families who have helped their child find their hat and have it ready for school. A reminder that one of our expected behaviours is our students showing respect for their uniform, that includes not writing/drawing on their hat, I'm not talking about writing their name on their hat, we definitely want names on hats! If your child's hat has writing/drawings on it please wash the hat or purchase another one.
Glasses4Kids program.
A reminder to our Foundation to year 3 students will be bringing home information about the free Glasses4Kids program and a consent form. All students in Foundation to year 3 can have their eyes tested at no cost, and if they require glasses, they will also receive these at no cost.
Term 3 ends next Friday and school finishes at 2:30pm.
Have a great weekend everyone
warm regards,
Carolyn.
