Year 4 Letters to Olympians

Walk to the Post Office

On the 23rd August, the Year 4 students participated in a walk to Australia Post at the Greenvale Shopping Centre.

For two weeks prior to this, the Year 4 students had been working hard preparing, drafting and writing their letters to their chosen Australian Olympic Athlete. Students showed dedication and resilience while completing their letters as they thoroughly researched and learnt all the outstanding achievements demonstrated by their chosen athlete. Currently, this is displayed at the Writer’s Festival Display area. We encourage all parents to come and have a look at the amazing letters the students have written.

To celebrate their hard work, students independently prepared a second copy of their typed letter to be mailed. Students prepared their envelope for posting by writing the address of the Victorian Institute of Sport on the envelope and then placed a stamp on ready for posting.  We then walked to the Post Office so students could personally post their letter in the mailbox.

All Year 4 students displayed the school values of respect, responsibility, honesty, learning and resilience as they walked through the community. They demonstrated responsibility by crossing safely on the road and walking on the footpaths. Well done to all Year 4 students on an amazing walk to Australia Post!

We would also like to give a special thank you to Australia Post at Greenvale Shopping Centre, for accommodating and providing this opportunity for the Year 4’s.
