The past couple of weeks in 3/4 have been very busy and exciting! We kicked off our T-ball competition, where everyone showed great teamwork and enthusiasm. Halloween dress-up day was a highlight, with lots of creative costumes and plenty of fun. We were also lucky to have a visit from a reptile show, where we learned some amazing facts about different reptiles up close.
In the classroom, we finished off our reading unit and have been working hard in writing and maths, showing lots of progress and effort. To finish the fortnight, we began our Discovery Projects, where students are researching “Wings and Things”—learning all about flight and famous aviators. We’ve been discovering fascinating facts about the Concorde, Amelia Earhart, and the Wright brothers, exploring how their inventions and achievements changed the way people travel and think about flying. Everyone is excited to continue researching and sharing what they’ve learned!
This week we said a warm farewell and good luck to Ms. Jones as she begins her maternity leave. We will all miss her kindness, energy, and the wonderful contributions she has made to PVNPS over the years. We wish her all the best for this exciting new chapter and can’t wait to hear about the arrival of her little one!
We will be welcoming Mr Paul Phypers to the 3/4 team next week to take 3/4E for the remainder of Term 4.
The Grade 3/4's have been introduced to their cohort reward today. For the next 2 weeks all stude will be working towards 3 focus PBE's to reach their goal to have a picnic and play at a local park. A note for consent will be available in Compass next week.
We will be focusing on 3 PBE's:
Families of any students who are having difficulty following these focus PBE's will have phone calls home. We will discuss their behaviours with you and the possibility of them missing out of the reward if changes are not made.
Students in 3/4 have been training hard for this year's T-ball competition, showing great teamwork, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship along the way. Their dedication and positive attitude both on and off the field has been fantastic to see. We will be holding the final round of the competition at Hallam Reserve on Thursday 11th December in week 10. Keep an eye out on Compass next week for the consent form. Good luck to all teams!

The children showed wonderful imagination and creativity during our Halloween dress-up day! The classroom was filled with spooky, scary, and inventive costumes that really brought the Halloween spirit to life. Everyone enjoyed sharing their outfits and explaining the ideas behind them, showing how creative and thoughtful they could be. It was a fun and festive day that celebrated their individuality and imagination!

Students had an amazing time participating in the reptile show, where they were introduced to lots of creepy crawlies and fascinating creatures. They were excited to see reptiles up close and learn cool and interesting facts about how they live, move, and survive in their environments. It was a fun, hands-on learning experience that sparked lots of curiosity and excitement! Thank you to Ms Jones for organising this for us as a part of our camp this year.
