Justice & Service Group Update

Throughout 2025, the St Mary’s Justice & Service Group has continued to grow in both numbers and impact, with approximately 40 students volunteering each week as part of the Senior Sports program. This initiative has become a meaningful avenue for students to engage with and give back to our local community.

This year, students have generously contributed their time and energy across a range of service activities, including:

  • Assisting at the Vinnies warehouse, sorting donated clothing for those in need
  • Visiting local nursing homes to build connections and share moments with elderly residents
  • Partnering with the Mercy Seville Centre to paint and gift memory bags for Mercy Aged Care families, and preparing craft materials for upcoming environmental activities with visiting primary school students
  • Supporting early learners by providing educational assistance to Prep and Year 1 classes at St Gerard Majella School

These experiences not only foster compassion and leadership among our students but also strengthen the ties between our College and the wider Cairns community. We are incredibly proud of their commitment and look forward to expanding our service efforts in the months ahead.

Thank you to all who continue to support and encourage this vital work.
