Illuminate Entrepreneurial Challenge
Wow!
What extraordinary young entrepreneurs we have at Endeavour.
In Week 10 (Term 3) our Year 8 students participated in a four day intensive Entrepreneurial Challenge, designed to solve important real-world problems.
Year 8 students began the program by exploring the seventeen United Nations Sustainable Development Goals before selecting a focus issue and using the design thinking process to develop a business solution.
They tackled complex challenges such as the cost-of-living crisis, mental health, climate change, domestic violence, homelessness, plastic pollution, youth crime, carbon emissions, and public transport.
Working in small teams, students created business plans, financial forecasts, prototypes, and marketing strategies before pitching their ideas to a panel of “Sharks.”
Guest judges included entrepreneurs Fiona Goodsite (TutBOB), Paul Adolphi (Medi Mart), Ben Cristarella (The Cupcake Lady and alumni), Amanda Lee (Sugar Cakes), Sasha Dragovelic (Polaris Business Development Centre), and alumni Miles Pennington, Portia Delacy, and Ayden Reeves.
We sincerely thank them for their time and generosity. Both the judges and Illuminate Education facilitators were impressed by the students’ creativity, professionalism, and passion, proving that this generation truly are the change-makers of the future.

Year 10 Business Expo
The Semester 2 Year 10 Business students hosted a Business Expo in the Senatus Rooms on Tuesday this week.
Each group set up a stall to showcase the business ideas they had developed throughout the semester, complete with logos, marketing materials, even including digitally-designed and cardboard prototypes.
The diversity and creativity of students' ideas shone; ranging from eco-friendly go-karts and AI-integrated kitchen appliances, to an all-in-one app helping drivers keep track of car registration renewal, servicing dates, insurance policies and even recommended mechanics.
Students truly demonstrated a growing understanding of entrepreneurship and design thinking, while also practicing oral skills of pitching and answering questions.
Students pitched their concepts to a panel of guest judges, teachers, as well as a handful of Year 11 and 12 Business Innovation students, who offered valuable feedback on their presentations and ideas.
On behalf of the Business faculty, I want to express gratitude to our guest judges: Fiona Goodsite from Tutbob, Sasha Dragovelic from Polaris Centre and recent graduate and Illuminate Challenge winner, MilesPennington. Their commitment to supporting our school events is highly appreciated and the students really enjoyed receiving your valuable feedback.

PE Week
Last week we celebrated PE Week with a range of activities designed to get students active and outdoors.
Each recess featured a lively ‘Just Dance’ session in the Mall, where plenty of students showed off their best moves and encouraged friends to join in the fun.
On Monday lunchtime, we held our first-ever 3-on-3 Basketball Competition, led by Sports Leader Riley. It was fantastic to see strong participation from students across all year levels.
The week also included the much-anticipated Staff vs Students Volleyball and Netball matches. The staff claimed victory in Netball for the first time in several years and maintained their dominance in Volleyball, securing straight sets win for their fourth consecutive title.
Overall, PE Week was a great success! A big thank you to Sports Leaders Malisa and Riley, along with all PE staff, for their efforts in making the week such a fun and active celebration.

With nine courts in action, both in the Gym and out in the Eastern Yard, the atmosphere was buzzing with energy and teamwork.
In the competition results:
- The Senior Girls division was won by a Year 9/10 team of Eva, Sarina, Yu-Jillia, and An.
- The Middle Girls division went to the Year 7 team of Kim, Anna, Mya, and Trinh.
- The Senior Boys division champions were the Year 10 team of Khoa, Sam, Norrin, and William.
