SA Schools Constitutional Convention:
A Student Perspective
My passions for politics and the Australian Government have existed for a while now, but when I got to be a part of the Constitutional Convention at Parliament House, they really blossomed.
The day started with interacting with other schools. Everyone seemed very intelligent, and it’s safe to say I was nervous. We had time for group discussions about various topics such as why territories and states aren’t treated the same regarding the constitution.
Everyone had such amazing perspectives and unique points to bring to the conversation.
We heard from multiple people who work in politics, and their insights to the overall discussion of, “Should the Australian constitution be easier to change?”
However, the highlight, aside from the food, was definitely the student debate at the end of the day where everyone made different points about the overall question. It was chaos, people shouting, “hear hear!” and “shame!”. Plenty of passion filled the room.
Overall, it was an exciting day that brings me so much joy to be a young person interested in politics in 2025.

SACSA Table Tennis
In Week 1 of this term, Endeavour sent six teams from Years 7 through to Year 10 to compete in the SACSA Table Tennis competition.
It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to demonstrate their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship against strong opposition.
Thursday saw our Year 7/8 teams take to the tables, joining 39 teams in total, a highly competitive field!
Our Year 7/8 Girls played with great determination, finishing the group stage with two wins and two losses. This placed them in the 9th place playoff, where they narrowly went down 1–2, finishing tenth overall.
We entered two Year 7/8 Boys teams this year, both showing excellent skill and spirit.
The Silver Team finished their group stage with one win and three close losses, two of which were decided 1–2. In their placing finals, they again had a narrow 1–2 loss before bouncing back to win their final 2–1, finishing fifteenth overall.
The Gold Team enjoyed a strong run.
After losing their first game 1–2 they managed to secure the win for the next four to finish second in their group. They went on to win their first final 2–1, before a tight 1–2 loss in the qualifying final. They finished the day on a high, winning the fifth-place playoff to secure fifth overall.
On Friday, it was the Year 9/10 students’ turn at the Lights Sports Centre.
The 9/10 Girls were incredibly competitive, finishing their group stage with two wins and three narrow 1–2 losses. Their determination paid off as they won the seventh-place playoff 3–0, finishing seventh overall.
We also fielded two 9/10 Boys teams.
The Silver Team had three wins and two losses in the group stage. In their first placing playoff, they narrowly lost 1–2, and after another close 1–2 loss in their final game they finished twelfth overall.
The Gold Team dominated their group stage, winning all four matches 3–0 without dropping a single set. In the finals, they played two nail-biters, both going down 1–2, before finishing strong with a 3–0 win in the fifth place playoff to take fifth overall.
A huge congratulations to all our players for their energy, resilience, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
You represented Endeavour with pride, well done!
Inaugural Intercollegiate Competition
This year, for the first time, Endeavour and Cornerstone came together to launch what we hope will become an annual tradition.
The Inter-Col event featured a Boys AFL match and a Girls Netball game, showcasing the top players from both schools across all year levels for the inaugural Intercollegiate shield.
Both teams had been training hard since Week 1 of Term 3 in preparation for the big games held last week. In the Netball, our girls faced a tough challenge after losing a few players to injury and illness during the lead-up.
Despite the setbacks, they displayed great determination and teamwork throughout the game but ultimately went down by twenty four points.
In the AFL, the boys showed incredible resilience. After trailing by five goals at quarter time, they fought back to get within two goals as they game progressed.
Although the game ended in an eighteen-point loss, the team’s persistence and spirit never wavered.
Congratulations to Malisa Haing and Micah Kretschmer, who were awarded Best on Court and Best on Ground respectively, as selected by the opposition coaches.
A huge thank you also goes to our dedicated coaches, who generously gave up lunchtimes and after-school hours throughout Term 3 to train and support the teams.
We look forward to hosting the event next year and building on what was already a fantastic start to what promises to be a great tradition.
