Jacob Cincurak - Interim Junior Sports Coordinator
This term has been filled with outstanding achievements across a variety of sports, with our students once again showing skill, teamwork, and school spirit.
Basketball
Congratulations to Milla Lowe, Ayira Ezekwe, Louie Menz, and Charlie Bayliss, who were all selected for the Basketball NSW Talented Athlete Program (TAP) Camp. They trained alongside the state’s best and gained access to high performance coaching, recovery, and sports science seminars.
Athletics
At the RAS Carnival, Trinity athletes excelled with Mahir Pathak crowned Age Champion, and Alexis Pritchard and Duke Leslie named Runners-Up. Records tumbled with Alex Castley setting a new 100m sprint record (14.68s) and Alexis Pritchard jumping a record 3.80m in long jump. Trinity was awarded Champion School for the day.
Our athletes then shone on the bigger stage at the CIS Primary Championships in Sydney. Josh Evans placed 3rd in shot put (9.60m), Ayira Ezekwe claimed bronze in shot put with a PB of 7.69m, and Alexis Pritchard won silver in the 11 Years Girls Long Jump, earning her a spot at the NSWPSSA Championships later this year.
Todd Woodbridge Cup – Tennis
It was an incredible term for tennis, with both Stage 2 and Stage 3 teams performing brilliantly. The Stage 2 team finished as runners-up in their regional final, while the Stage 3 team went one better, winning all their matches to book a place in the State Finals in Parramatta this November. Congratulations also to Isla Gooding (Player of the Day) and Bella Doolan, Sonny Thornycroft, Will Coleman, and Lachlan Morton, who received Sportsmanship Awards.
AFL
Year 6 student Duke Leslie represented NSW at the Primary AFL Nationals, where the team finished 5th. Duke’s determination against powerhouse Victorian and South Australian sides was praised, and NSW proudly received the Richard Newman Award for sportsmanship.
Rugby League – Trent Barrett Legends Gala Day
Forty-five Year 3 and 4 students represented Trinity across five teams in this gala day. Highlights included consistent performances from Jordy Rampal, standout efforts from Clay Jones and Harry Jackson, and excellent contributions from Theo I’Anson in the mixed tag team. The girls’ team displayed fantastic spirit, making it a memorable day for all.
Primary NSW Netball Cup
Our Year 6 netballers impressed at the NSW Netball Cup Phase 2 in Wagga. After strong pool performances, Trinity defeated Holy Spirit in a thrilling crossover before meeting favourites Lockhart in the final. Despite a spirited fight, Trinity finished Runners Up, with standout contributions from Louie Menz, Flyn Mardling, Rayne Rampal, and Camden Weddell. The team now awaits news of a potential wildcard entry into the State Cup Phase in November.
Dominic (Year 6) began his umpiring journey at the start of the 2025 hockey season and, through dedication and hard work, quickly progressed from umpiring Under 7s and 10s in training to being accredited to officiate competition matches independently.
Over the season, he has umpired across a wide range of levels - from Under 12s and Under 14s through to Masters competitions. His commitment and positive attitude were recognised when he was selected as the third umpire for both the Under 12 grand finals and the Masters grand final.
Dominic’s passion for umpiring has even inspired other juniors to get involved, and we are proud to share that he has been awarded the Hockey Albury Wodonga Junior Umpire of the Year. Congratulations on this wonderful achievement!
Dominic was presented his award from Hockey Albury Wodonga Life Member, Jo Duffy.
