Year 12 Final Chapel and Graduation

It was wonderful to see so many parents, families and friends join us yesterday as we marked the final formal day for our Class of 2025. We are especially grateful to Fr Peter and his team for their hospitality at St Matthew’s Anglican Church, and to our musicians, music staff, and talented Year 11 performers who enriched the service so beautifully.

In the afternoon, students from Years 6 to 11 gathered in the MPH to honour each of our Year 12s as they were presented before their families, received academic awards, and witnessed the announcement of our 2026 Student Leaders. It was one of those special “happy sad” moments – farewelling one graduating class while welcoming the next into their final year of schooling. A particular highlight was the thoughtful speeches delivered by our outgoing College Captains, Claudia Hocking and Hudson Gray.

On this occasion, I took the opportunity to share the story of Burt Munro, a humble New Zealander who, through persistence, creativity and courage, transformed an old motorbike into a world record-breaking machine. His life reminds us success is not about resources or circumstances but about determination and resilience. In the same way, our graduates have spent their “shed years” at Trinity – learning, growing, supporting others, and shaping our community. As they now prepare for the road ahead, we are proud of the people they have become and we send them forward with blessing and hope.

Farewell to Rev Emily

At a special Chapel Service last week, our community gathered to give thanks for the ministry of Rev Emily and to bless her and her family as they prepare for their move to Victoria. Students led the service with warmth and sincerity, sharing scripture, prayers and reflections on the love, faith and encouragement that Rev Emily has shown during her time at Trinity.

We celebrated her steady leadership, her thoughtful teaching, and her genuine care for both students and staff. The Junior School Choir added to the occasion with a beautiful song of praise, reminding us of the joy of worshipping together.

We also gave thanks for the generous way Rev Emily’s family has shared in her ministry, supporting parish life with kindness and commitment. While we will miss them all, we send them with our love, gratitude, and prayers for the journey ahead.

My colleagues and I wish all our families a wonderful break and we look forward to students returning in Term 4.
