Principal News

Dear Sacred Heart Community,
Welcome Back to Term 4
As we begin this final term of the school year, we take a moment to pause, reflect, and give thanks for the many blessings that surround us, our students, families, staff, and the beautiful Sacred Heart community we share.
Prayer
Loving God,
We thank You for bringing us together at the beginning of this new term.
Bless our school community with energy, joy, and kindness.
May this term be filled with opportunities to grow, to learn,
and to show Your love through our words and actions.
Guide our students to be curious and compassionate,
and give our staff the wisdom and strength to nurture
each child in faith and learning.
As we walk in the footsteps of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop,
may we live with faith, hope, and love in all that we do.
We ask this through the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Amen
Mary MacKillop Centre
To begin the term, the Sacred Heart staff came together for a day of learning, reflection, and connection. We were blessed to spend time at the Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre, where we deepened our understanding of the life and legacy of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop.
Our time there was both inspiring and grounding, reminding us of Mary’s message: “Never see a need without doing something about it.” She was an educator too, one who led with courage, compassion, and a deep love for others.
A special thank you to Brittany, the wonderful educator at the Centre, who led us with such warmth, knowledge, fun, and faith filled energy. She also encouraged us to reflect on what makes Sacred Heart so special, our strong sense of community. Her guidance helped us consider how we can continue to live out Mary MacKillop’s example of faith, hope, and love within our school and beyond.
Cricket Clinic
In PE this week students eagerly participated in a cricket clinic run by Preston Baseballers Cricket Club. The coaches lead students through activities that focused on throwing, catching, bowling, batting and then combined all skills in a modified game of cricket.
If your child/children are interested in joining the club, please see the attached flyer for more information.
A big thank you to Abby for organising this wonderful opportunity for our students and for her continued enthusiasm in teaching and supporting our PE program.
First Week Back at School — Fun in the Playground
Students have loved reconnecting with friends and enjoying the sunshine this week, playing happily in the playground, building two huge sandcastles, and chatting together around the big chair.
It’s wonderful to see everyone settling back in with such joy and energy!
☀️ No Hat, Play in the Shade!
As the weather warms up, a reminder that in Term 4 all children are required to wear a hat while outside. If a child does not have a hat, they will be asked to stay under the shade during recess and lunch play.
Should your child need a new hat, these are available for purchase from the front office for $25 each.
Mission Sunday Mass
Next Sunday, 19th at 10:30am, all families are warmly invited to join us for our Mission Sunday Mass, followed by coffee and tea in the school Multipurpose Room.
Wishing everyone a wonderful week filled with joy and peace!
Warmest wishes,
Antoniette
