Uniform Shop Volunteers
Do you have a spare thirty minutes on a Tuesday morning or Thursday afternoon?
DCS Community are looking for volunteers to open our School Uniform Shop twice a week for approximately thirty minutes each time. This will give our parents an opportunity to browse our Uniform Shop and to purchase any uniform items they may require.
We will equip you with all the right tools to be successful in fulfilling this role.
If you would like more information, please contact Jasmin either by Facebook or email at:
Coffee Volunteers Wanted
DCS Community loves to serve coffee to our school community. To run this Café ever so smoothly it takes volunteers to help.
We are now looking for some extra parents or grandparents to help with making coffees or taking orders. As you are all aware coffee is a big part of our DCS culture if you feel passionate about coffee but don’t know how to make one, we are happy to train you.
If you would like to serve in the Jiloa Café once a week from 8.20am till 8.45am, please contact Jasmin on Facebook or via email: Thompsonj@dcs.tas.edu.au
The Chosen: Last Supper
This Easter, Reading Cinema Devonport will be showing The Chosen: Last Supper, a film depicting the lead up to Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection. The Chosen is a groundbreaking historical series based on Jesus’ life. The series can be seen on Netflix or via The Chosen app from your device's app store.
The director of The Chosen has released this historical account of the lead up to the events that took place with Jesus and the Last Supper. This film has been shot in a beautiful cinematic format adding to the experience of what Easter is all about.
We encourage everyone this Easter to take some time out and head to Reading Cinemas Devonport and view this masterpiece. It will not disappoint. Tickets available from Thursday 10th April.

National Volunteer Week
DCS Community wanted to reach out to all our amazing volunteers and celebrate them on National Volunteer week.
National Volunteer Week is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering and will be next held on 19-25 May 2025.
This special event highlights the important role of volunteers in our community.
Volunteering creates lasting relationships that enrich lives and strengthens the school body.
Join us Friday 23rd May 9am for a special morning tea celebrating our DCS volunteers.
Mother's Day Expo
Every year DCS Community runs an amazing Mother’s Day Stall which provides the opportunity for students to purchase a small gift for their Mum or loved one.
This year, in addition to our usual Mother’s Day Stall, we decided to invite any DCS families who would be interested in having a market stall to sell their own items, and we had a wonderful response!
Our Mother’s Day Expo will include stalls selling an amazing selection of beautiful goods, including flowers, earrings, handmade cookies, and handmade soap!
The Mother’s Day Expo will be held Friday 9th May, outside the Jiloa Centre. All items will be priced under $10.00, with the exception of a few larger items priced a little more.
Students in Kinder Copas will be able to purchase on Thursday 8th May.
Subway & Liv Eat Lunches
DCS Community facilitate the option of Subway lunches for all students each Wednesday and Liv Eat lunches each Friday. Orders are placed via the Canteen Hub website and then delivered to school.
