A reminder that parents are warmly invited to join the Leadership Team on Thursday 10 April as part of our School Cyclic Inquiry processParents’ insights into the successes and challenges the school has had over the past four years and their thoughts on the school’s future directions are very much valued and this will be a great opportunity for us to listen to your voice.

St Joseph’s School Choir News

A huge thank you to the 50 children who sang so beautifully at the Parish Family Mass on Sunday. Your dedication and joyful voices made the celebration extra special!

We warmly invite all families to come and watch the choir perform at our Term 2 - Week 2 school assembly on Friday 9 May. It’s a fantastic opportunity to see our talented students in action as they share their love of music with the school community.

Finally we would like to share some exciting news that our choir has been entered into the City of Wollongong Eisteddfod on Monday 2 June! We can’t wait to showcase our hard work and represent our school with pride. Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to the event!

Lunch Time Activities - Term 2, 2025

Once again we will be running lunchtime activities for the students in Term 2. These structured activities give students the opportunity to join in play where they feel connected and part of a group that share similar interests. We are blessed at St Joseph’s to have such dedicated, enthusiastic and talented staff at our school willing to share their time, skills and expertise with our students.

There are a number of activities and clubs on offer for students to participate in during Term 2. These activities will be facilitated by classroom teachers and conducted across the week, some open for specific levels of children others for anyone who is interested from Kindergarten to Year 6.

If your child would like to take part in these lunchtime activities during Term 2, please complete the form attached by Thursday 10 April. Please note that not all activities will run and that there is an expectation that your child will commit and attend the activity(ies) he/she has been allocated, as these will be part of our lunchtime teacher supervision roster.  If you have any questions please contact Mr Aguilera.

(If you have more than one child at the school, please complete a separate form for each student)

Emergency Management Plan

As part of our Emergency Management Plan, we annually facilitate emergency drills. Over the past fortnight we held an Evacuation Drill and a Lockdown Drill. These enabled us to refine our procedures. In the event we ever actually need to enact our Evacuation or Lockdown Procedures, parents will be informed via a Compass Alert.

For any further questions please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Pirie.

Sport

Cross Country

On Thursday, we had a fantastic day at Bulli Park for our whole school Cross Country carnival. Congratulations to all the students who participated competitively or in the fun event! It was wonderful weather, and the sense of community was alive! It was great to see the persistence and smiles. Creative whole school dances added to the fun throughout the morning!

Thank you to all the parents, carers, and friends who attended the carnival and cheered on the runners. Thank you to our generous P&F running the BBQ/canteen and for the refreshing ice blocks. These were a great way to conclude our War Cries!

A special thank you to the parent officials and staff for their generosity of time and effort before, during, and after the carnival. As you know, these events take time to prepare, and everything is done to benefit the students at St Joseph’s. We appreciate all of the extra assistance and organisation, especially those who assisted from 7:45 am and came back to help us unload at school.

THANK YOU TO OUR WONDERFUL SCHOOL COMMUNITY!

For all things St Joseph - we give thanks!
