Acknowledgement of Country

At St Liborius Eaglehawk we acknowledge the Dja Dja Wurrung/Jaara people, the traditional custodians of the country on which our school is built.  We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and future and extend that respect to other Aboriginal people present. 

This is the place where the people danced on the land; where the song lines are remembered and respected; where learning and teaching still goes on today as it did in the past. We are thankful for the knowledge they share of the landscape and sacred places. 

We commit ourselves to walking alongside Aboriginal people in truth, justice and reconciliation.
