From the Principal

Dear St Liborius Community,
As we near the end of Term 1, we take a moment to reflect on what has been a busy and rewarding period. From classroom learning to extracurricular activities, our students have embraced a wide range of opportunities that have contributed to their growth and development. We are incredibly proud of their achievements so far and grateful for the ongoing support of our staff, families, and community.
This Friday, we will wrap up the term with our Caritas K’s event. This wonderful initiative not only raises awareness about the challenges faced by others but also helps raise essential funds to support the great work of Caritas. It’s a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together in fun and solidarity while supporting a meaningful cause.
After Term 1 concludes, our students will enjoy a well-deserved three-week break. While they rest and recharge, our dedicated teachers will remain active, participating in ongoing professional development to further enhance their teaching skills. In the final week of the students’ break, we will host an intensive professional learning experience, led by Dr. Jared Cooney-Horvarth, an expert in the science of learning. This will be an invaluable opportunity to deepen our understanding of student learning and ensure we continue providing the best support for our students’ educational journeys.
Families are reminded that Kelly Sports will be operating a Holiday Program at our school throughout the extended break.
We are also pleased to share some exciting news: St. Liborius has been named a Lead School for the Respectful Relationships program. This initiative, recommended by the Royal Commission into Family Violence, aims to foster a culture of respect and equality within our communities. As part of this program, we will receive funding, resources and support, ensure our school policies, practices and understandings are inclusive, promoting respect for all. As a Lead School, we will take on the responsibility of mentoring a cluster of partner schools, sharing our expertise, resources, and strategies to ensure the program’s successful implementation. Furthermore, our school will integrate Catholic beliefs and values throughout the program, reinforcing our commitment to teaching respect, kindness, and equality from a faith-based perspective. At St Liborius we are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where all children can grow and flourish, and we look forward to collaborating with our community throughout this process.
As we approach the Easter break, we encourage all members of our community to reflect during Lent and embrace the season of renewal. After the sorrow of Good Friday,
may we all find hope in the Resurrection on Easter Sunday. We wish you a restful, joyful break and a blessed Easter filled with peace and hope.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another productive and enriching term.
Warm regards,
Alannah
