Not Your Average Joe Musical
Dear Families,
Our school musical is a significant and enriching event in our school year. While our Year 6 students fill the major roles of the musical, each student and class is involved by performing on stage during the musical. This year the school will be performing 'Not Your Average Joe' under the direction of Jenna Denholm.
There is a large amount of information sent to families about our school musical each year and this can be overwhelming, especially if it is your first year at Pilgrim School! As we did last year, we plan to keep the many details sent to families about our school musical in one place through this Musical News. If you use the link in the Favourites tile in Compass, you will see all of the latest news related to the musical and we will continue to update this over the term. Alternatively, you may want to bookmark the following link which we will share regularly in the school newsletter to see all of the latest news related to the musical. We will continue to update information over the term in the lead up to our performances.

Dance Troupe Auditions
Auditions for the Musical Dance Troupe will be held at lunchtime tomorrow, Thursday 1st May.
Please note that this is for Year 3, 4 and 5 students only. We can only have approximately 8 dancers, preferably students who have had some dance training. If your child is wanting to audition for the dance troupe, please accept the invitation to attend in the opt-in event on Compass and then sign to give permission before midnight Wednesday 30th April.
Please note that rehearsals will be held after school on Wednesdays from 3.10pm till 4.00pm in Weeks 2 to 7 and will be in the Oasis Kitchen/Art Room. This after-school commitment for the Dance Troupe is the reason we need prior permission for your child to audition.
Performance times
As a start, here are the performance dates and times for this year. Please add them to your diary.
- Wednesday 2nd July, 6.30pm
- Thursday 3rd July, 6.30pm
Our performances will be held at Futures Church South in Old Reynella this year and more details will follow.
All students are encouraged to be at each performance and we appreciate the effort of families to rearrange commitments to enable this to occur. Please let your child's teacher know as soon as possible if there is any reason your child will not be able to attend a performance.
Costumes
Each student will be asked to wear a simple costume relevant to their class item. We will soon provide information about what your child is required to wear for performances.
Tickets
Please keep an eye out for the opening of ticket sales toward the middle of the term.
Year 6 Information
Each issue of Musical News will have a page with information for Year 6 families only. The first issue went solely to our Year 6 families at the end of last term with information regarding after school rehearsals. Other families do not need to worry about any of the information labelled for Year 6 students.
