As part of Hampton's whole school Wellbeing curriculum, the children will continue to engage with our school norms of Collaboration, Aspiration, Integrity and Resilience. We will reflect on our personal goals from Term 1 and choose new goals for Term 2.
Throughout the term, we will focus specifically on Emotional Literacy and Help Seeking. Students will take part in authentic learning experiences incorporating the Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR) Program and Visible Wellbeing Framework.
For the topic Emotional Literacy, the students will describe what emotions look like and what can trigger our certain emotions. They will also consider the range of emotions that may be experienced across the school day and how they can manage their them in various settings to ensure positive interactions with others.
Later in the term, we will explore the topic Help Seeking. Students will practise their communication skills through help-seeker scenarios learning how to seek support and help others. They will discuss the concept of peer support and develop an understanding of when it is appropriate to help or seek further support. They will learn to assess a problem and will have a bank of help seeking strategies to create a positive outcome. Finally, students will learn about strategies they can apply when they feel uncomfortable or unsafe.
