Dear Families of Our Lady Star of the Sea,
As we reach the end of a busy and fruitful Term 1, I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your ongoing support and commitment to our school community. It has been a wonderful start to the year, filled with learning, laughter, and strong examples of faith in action.
This past week, we came together as a school to commemorate the sacred events of Holy Week. Our liturgies—marking Palm Sunday, The Washing of the Feet, Holy Thursday, The Garden of Gethsemane and Good Friday —were moving and reverent. I am so proud of our students for the respectful and prayerful way they participated and helped us all reflect on the meaning of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection. We will celebrate the Resurrection in Week 1 next term and we will also reflect on the birthday of our church when our Year 6 students reenact Pentecost later in Term 2.
I’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all parents and families for your incredible contribution to school life this term. Whether it’s through volunteering, attending events, or simply supporting learning at home, your presence and partnership make our school a truly united and nurturing place for our children to grow and thrive. I think our special day with our Sisters of St Joseph will be a highlight for many years to come.
As we move into the Easter break, I wish all families a safe, holy, and restful holiday. May this season of renewal bring peace and joy to your homes.
Before I sign off, have you seen the beautiful ANZAC Day artwork displayed on Clubb Crescent and Kiora Road? It’s a powerful tribute created with great care and creativity. If you haven’t had the chance yet, I encourage you to take a moment to stop by and appreciate this meaningful expression of remembrance and gratitude created by our students.
Thank you once again for being part of our special school community. I look forward to seeing everyone refreshed and ready for Term 2.
God Bless,
Mrs Maria Rose
