Principal's Report

Dear HPS Community,

Welcome back to our Year 3 campers! From all accounts it was a wonderful experience. Thank you very much to our staff and volunteers who attended and also well done to the students for a successful first school camp experience. I am sure there will be some tired people and plenty of washing to be caught up .

Well done to everyone for a fabulous and focused first term! From the establishment of classroom expectations and collaborative learning during the start of year Connect Create Explore (CCE) there have been so many positive interactions, activities and opportunities.

A special congratulations to our Foundation students for successfully completing their first term of school. The calm and confident manner in which they have settled into routine at HPS is a credit to them, as well as to their parents, carers and teachers and staff who have supported them so aptly.

We wish Anouka Hoppmann-Smith and her partner well as they await the arrival of their first little bundle of joy. We thank Anouka for all her work at HPS to date and look forward to hearing the news when baby arrives.

We welcome Chris Roberts who is taking over the teaching of the Year 4 class for the remainder of the year. Chris is familiar with our school as he has worked as a casual relief teacher over the past few years.

Thank you to Mark B and his children Grace and Andrew for their time volunteering at breakfast club this term. Mark is not able to continue in Term 2 and we appreciate the time and effort he has been able to give this term.

If anyone else is available and would like to volunteer to help at breakfast club, please let me know.

Helping out by feeding little tummies ready for a big day of learning is very beneficial for the children and rewarding for the volunteers!
