Year 3/4 News

Science
This week in Science, we began our new Physical Sciences unit focused on Heat. Students explored different sources of heat and investigated how animals keep warm in cold environments. They then completed an activity where they drew themselves in a cold setting and identified three sources of heat—either natural or human-made—that they could use to stay warm.
Reading
This week, we have been learning to make inferences while we read. Students have been able to infer the character's feelings throughout a text, identify when these feelings change and discuss what caused these feelings to change. Here are some pictures of the first stage of our "Feelings Timeline" that we have been recording in our reading books. Next students will record what happened to cause the change of character feelings.
Writing
This Term we are continuing on with our Persuasive Writing Unit. Students have been spent time brainstorming a new persuasive topic and strong reasons to support their opinion. Their use of persuasive language and techniques makes their writing really exciting to read! We can't wait for you to see their published work! This week students have started drafting their writing and have enjoyed sharing their work with their classmates.
