Floss Rule in Spelling
We have been recapping on the Floss Rule and practicing this rule daily in our word work sessions.
At the end of a one syllable short vowel word, double the f, l, s, z.
Addition & Subtraction
We have been exploring the use of number lines as a strategy when adding and subtracting. When adding, we start from the larger number to count on as this makes the count more efficient. When subtracting, we take the smaller number from the bigger
number and count back.
